Importing Your Pet into Australia from a Category 1 Country

What are the Differences for Category 1?
Depending on what country you are coming from will depend on the process and entry requirements into Australia. As such, all Category 1 pets need to supply valid microchip details, an up to date vaccination certificate and administer a flea and worm treatment within 5 days of travelling into Australia. Unlike Category 2 and Category 3, Category 1 pets do not require quarantine and can travel directly to Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney or Perth for Customs Clearance.
What Countries are Classified as Category 1?
Countries that are classified in Category 1 are: New Zealand, Norfolk Island and Cocos Island.
