It is not mandatory for pets to be vaccinated when travelling interstate. Treatments such as F3 for cats and C5 for Dogs are required for pets to gain entry into a pet accommodation/boarding facility and depending on your destination. Heartworm, flea and tick treatments may also be recommended by your local veterinarian. It is important that pets are vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entering any boarding facility.
When travelling to Tasmania there are specific Bio-security requirements to gain entry. Please click here for more information.
Moving interstate with your Pet can be straight forward if you are well prepared! Our highly qualified Jetpets team will generally be able to assist you with short notice, as long as your pet is fit, healthy and able to travel. We would recommend a minimum of two business days’ notice to arrange your pet transport.
The most important aspect to consider when preparing for any travel is your pets current health status. It is also highly recommended for all dogs and cats to be up to date with their vaccinations and is a requirement if your pet needs boarding/accommodation before or after their journey.
